Larry Savedra, AMFT, is the Clinical Lead Therapist at Laguna Treatment Center and an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, bringing a unique blend of law enforcement and clinical experience to his therapeutic work.

With 25 years of service as a Detective with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Larry supported individuals in crisis—navigating abuse, violence, legal involvement, homelessness, substance abuse, and mental health challenges.

Following his retirement in 2014, Larry earned a Master of Science in Psychology in 2016 and transitioned into the mental health field. He spent 18 months with the West Covina School District, providing counseling, play therapy, and IEP support for children and families.

He went on to serve as a Clinical Therapist in private practice at Restoration Counseling Services in Redlands, where he offered trauma-informed therapy to individuals, couples, families, First Responders, Veterans, and those struggling with substance use disorders.

Larry also worked in the Forensic Counseling Division of Open Door Counseling under the State of California, delivering therapy and psychoeducational groups to parolees with a focus on substance abuse, sexual addiction, and life skills development to aid in their reintegration into society.

Since 2021, Larry has led clinical services at Laguna Treatment Center, where he provides therapy for individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. He specializes in trauma therapy for First Responders and Veterans and leads a nationwide PTSD support group, empowering participants with tools for reintegration, resilience, and lasting recovery.
